Vista Ridge Tunnel washing brings width limits

The width limits will be in place 9 pm to 5 am for the twice-a-year tunnel washing

PORTLAND – On the night of Friday, Nov. 30, the Vista Ridge Tunnel will be restricted to loads no wider than 8 feet, 6 inches in both directions on U.S. 26 while crews wash the tunnels.

The restriction will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 and will be lifted by 5 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

In addition, the westbound on-ramp to U.S. 26 from Southwest Clay Street will be closed during the same hours.

ODOT washes the tunnel twice a year.

Motor Carriers need to provide this information to their drivers, by copy of this letter or other means to assure their awareness of the restriction.

No local detour is available for this width restriction or ramp closure. Motor carriers need to avoid traveling through this area during the restricted times or use authorized alternate routes, such as OR 217, Interstate I-5, and Interstate 405..
