Salem, Oregon – The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles will meet Dec. 4 to discuss the next phase of its work. The group submitted its 2018 report to the Oregon Legislature on Sept. 11.

The meeting is 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Dec. 4 in Training Rooms A/B at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E., in Salem.

The task force was created by House Bill 4063, which names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more. The group and its subcommittees met between April and September to investigate and discuss the topics outlined in the bill: licensing and registration, law enforcement and crash reporting, insurance and liability, and cybersecurity and long-term policy. At its Sept. 10 meeting, the group voted to continue its work into 2019, as allowed by the bill.

The agenda for the meeting will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
