No new date for the maintenance work has been set
Sept. 16, 2021
ODOT has postponed the planned Saturday night closure of the northbound span of the Interstate Bridge.
All three northbound lanes had been scheduled to close at 11 p.m. Saturday while crews addressed maintenance tasks, including deck patching, electrical work, testing of the traffic control system and adjustments to the counterweights on the lift span.
No new date has been set for the work.
ODOT carried out similar work on the southbound span in July.
The maintenance work aligned with our efforts to maintain a modern and safe transportation system as spelled out in our Strategic Action Plan.
The Interstate Bridge is jointly owned by Oregon and Washington and maintained by ODOT. The northbound span opened in 1917 and the southbound span in 1958.
