MEDFORD – Interstate 5 motorists should watch for late-night detours early next week due to paving work south of Medford.
On Monday night, May 4, northbound I-5 traffic will detour from Phoenix (Exit 24) onto Oregon 99 and back to I-5 at south Medford (Exit 27). Southbound traffic will detour along the same three-mile route on Tuesday night, May 5. The detours will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Signs will direct motorists along the detour route.
Prime contractor Knife River Materials will repave about 2,000 feet of freeway south of the Bear Creek Bridges.
The Oregon 99 detour will allow the contractor to complete the paving quickly and with a higher level of safety because traffic will be eliminated from the work zone.
