This week, HDR’s Industrial Rope Access Bridge Inspection Team brought technicians from all across the U.S. to the St. Johns Bridge in Portland for their annual Rope Access Refresher course. The course reviews ascending and descending techniques, passing obstacles, and traversing underneath a structure. It was an opportunity to continue training and maintain compliance in a COVID-friendly way.
These rope access technicians are structural engineers who inspect and maintain steel, concrete and timber bridges. They also just happen to love the gothic architecture of the St. Johns Bridge.
And rightly so.
