Sept. 4 is National Wildlife Day, a day that focuses on protecting native species. Here at ODOT, helping and/or protecting native species is part of our daily work. Whether we’re relocating mountain goats to safer areas or working to reduce collisions with deer and elk or giving fish safe passage, our staff –

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal environmental laws
  • Provides guidance to minimize impacts to species and habitats
  • Directs mitigation efforts when negative impacts occur
